Lenten Challenge 2012

The Season of Lent, Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday (Feb 22- April 8), has always been a time where Christians have observed, with great devotion, the days of our Lord’s passion and resurrection. In our Book of Worship, we are invited to observe a Holy Lent by self-examination, penitence, prayer, fasting and almsgiving; and by reading and meditating on the Word of God.

 

Last year the Finance Team brought you the Lenten Sacrifice as a way to grow in generosity and this year the Finance Team has developed the Lenten Challenge as a way to grow in the area of giving, faith and discipline. One of the great disciplines of the church is that of giving and, in particular, taking the step of faith and trust to give 10% of our take-home pay to the ministry of the church.
