Pastor Byron has served in ministry for over 20 years in a variety of different church settings in Philadelphia, PA, Frederick, Silver Spring, Olney, and Friendship, Maryland.  He’s a graduate of Lebanon Valley College and Princeton Theological Seminary.  Pastor Byron enjoys hiking, farming, gardening, outdoor activities, reading, and sports.  Pastor Byron has a connection to Harford County.  His father, Rev. Byron Paul Brought, served a three point church circuit in Churchville, MD, and young Byron spent the first five years of his life right here with us in Harford County!  His wife, Kristen, is a music teacher formerly with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The Broughts have two sons: Nicholas and Josiah, both in high school at C. Milton Wright.

He considers it a gift from God to be able to serve as pastor to the people of Bel Air UMC and community, and is thankful for such a wonderful, loving, and Christ-like congregation and staff

Rev, Elizabeth Jackson

Pastor Elizabeth worked as an engineer for the Naval Air Systems Command, but left that civil service career in 2010 to attend seminary full-time. She graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in May 2012 with a Master of Divinity degree and was appointed as an Associate Pastor First Saints and here at Bel Air United Methodist Church in 2014. Elizabeth is ultimately pursuing ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.

When she is not working , Elizabeth might be found biking, taking pictures, or learning all about the next greatest gadget. She also might be driving all over the place visiting friends, or hanging out in the mountains of southdsdsern Virginia.

Deb Lampton

Deb Lampton was born and raised in Indiana. She met her husband, Dan, at Lincoln Christian University where she graduated in Music and Biblical Studies. Dan and Deb have a grown daughter, Taylor.  Deb has served congregations in Indiana, Idaho, Illinois and now Maryland (a state that doesn’t start with an I). She loves to make music and guide children and their families to join God in what He is doing every day.  Ps 78:4 “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and mighty wonders.”

Phil Nolan

Phil was the Director of Youth Ministries at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Morton, Illinois.  He has 8 years of experience as a Director of Youth Ministries.  He earned his BA in Theology from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and has nearly completed the Masters of Divinity program at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City.  Phil has a true heart and passion for youth ministries.  He and his wife are looking forward to living in Bel Air.

Tony Campaglio

Both Tony and his wife, Sue, and were raised in Baltimore County. They met on a backpacking trip in October of 1973 and have been together since. Tony and Sue have lived in Harford County since they were married in 1977. Their son and daughter grew up in the youth group at BAUMC. They now have three grandchildren, two of whom attend Tiny Tots. Tony has an engineering degree from Ga. Tech and, later in his career, he earned an MBA, using them both in a 38 year career with BGE/Constellation/Exelon. While Tony has been blessed with a long and rewarding career. “I always knew that there would be a time when I would want to end his career in industry and pursue a path that would enable me to use the gifts and skills I have been given in service to others. That time has finally come and I’m thrilled to be here!”

Linda was born and raised in Harford County, attended John Carroll High School and College of Notre Dame of Maryland.  After graduating college, she married her high school sweetheart, Mark. Subsequently, they had 2 beautiful girls named Chloe and Lauren. One is in college and the other is about to enter high school.  She comes to us with extensive work experience in bookkeeping and office management.

Debbiie Atteberry

Debbie was born and raised in Baltimore County.  She has been happily married to Glenn since October, 1987.  They were blessed with a bouncing baby boy named Wesley in February, 2000.  The Atteberry family now resides in Street, MD.  Most of their time is spent attending Wes’ sports events and collecting antique memorabilia.  Debbie has over 25 years of administrative assistant experience working with senior management in insurance, homebuilding and human resources.

Alice is a native Harford Countian who has lived on the family farm in Bel Air her entire life. Alice’s family attended Mt. Carmel Church, where she was baptized, and then joined Bel Air Methodist Church on Main Street, where she was confirmed. She is a graduate of Bel Air High School and Harford Community College, with a degree in Office Education. After working for the federal government at Aberdeen Proving Ground-Edgewood Area for 18 years, she began full-time employment at the church in 1992. Alice currently serves part-time as the Hospitality Coordinator. She is on the Board of Trustees and is the manager of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Alice serves as a Director and is Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Harford County Farm Fair. She is very knowledgeable about local and church history.

Cheryl was born and raised in the Reading, PA area and has been on the BAUMC staff since September 1,1991. Before that she worked for an attorney for 19 years. Cheryl is married to Dave, has three daughters and five grandchildren and lives in Forest Hill. Cheryl loves the outdoors and walking her two dogs, Sugar and Cinnamon! Her hobbies include beaching/camping, reading, swimming, and gardening. Cheryl’s prayer is that God’s light and love shines through her to our youth and all that she meets. “Life is an adventure… stay as positive as you can through all the stuff and the joys!”

Lisa was born and raised in New York City and is married to “a wonderful man,” Michael B. Wolf in October 1992. Lisa soon after gave birth to a perfect little girl, Kimberly Danielle Wolf in 1996. She and her family moved to Bel Air in June 2005. Lisa has two dogs, Freckles and Cheyenne.  She likes to read, eat and sleep. Lisa majored in Computer Science at Queens College and worked at an Insurance Agency for 20 years as the Manager of the Computer Department.   Lisa started working at BAUMC on April 10, 2006 as the Membership and Data Coordinator.  Since then Facility Scheduling and troubleshooting workstations has been added to her duties. “I love every minute of it.”

Rick retired from Verizon after 35 yrs. in high speed data installation and repair. Following retirement he operated a handyman business for 3yrs. Rick came to BAUMC as the Facilities Manager on February 22, 2010. He and his wife, Angie, were married in 2002 and they currently live in Forrest Hill. “I enjoy supplying a clean, heated, air conditioned space for the missions, worship, fellowship, and love of God.”

Steven Kenly Steven Kenly – Daytime Custodian


Steve came to work at BAUMC on December 14, 2005. He was born and raised in Maryland in Havre de Grace and currently cares for his youngest son, Eamon. In his spare time Steve runs an auto detailing business, loves to sing and praise the Lord. “It has been uplifting. I have met many wonderful people! It has been spiritually, physically and financially rewarding to me and my family. I enjoy my job! I enjoy every day life!”

Thureen Drake Thureen Drake – Evening Custodian


Thureen started part time at BAUMC on November 12, 2001 and now works full time. Thureen was born and raised in Baltimore and then relocated to Darlington.  Thureen loves to shop on QVC! Other things she enjoys are reading and watching movies.  “God gives me strength every day to do what I have to do. I have never had so much joy as I do working at Bel Air UM Church.”

Chris Pelfrey

Christopher Pelfrey - Pastoral Intern


Christopher Pelfry is currently a third year seminary student at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.  He works a Licensed Social Worker and the Clinical Director of a substance abuse facility in West Baltimore while also teaching as an adjunct professor at Baltimore City Community College.

This fall, and for the next two school years, he will be a pastoral intern here at BAUMC.  He will also be the new Director of Young Adult Ministries.

Chris' passions include teaching, discipleship, and next-generation mentoring. He is very excited about joining the staff at BAUMC and is really looking forward to being a part of what God is doing in the lives of young adults in our church and our community.

Christopher is marred to Jenn, a Baltimore County school teacher, and together they have four children:  Megan, Christopher, Rebecca Faith, and their newest addition: Logan Daniel. The Pelfrey's typically attend Ignite Service on Sundays but are looking forward to getting to know more of the entire BAUMC family!

Joan graduated from the Maryland Art Institute in Baltimore with a degree in art education and began her career teaching middle school art classes. Joan has worked for the Tiny Tot School for 23 years as a teacher, Co-Director and, now, as Director. She has been a Harford County resident for most of her life. Joan is married with two sons and her hobbies include gardening and traveling.

Anjanette has been the Director of the Children’s Christian Center since August of 2006. She was born in Paris, Texas and moved to Maryland with her family as a child. Anjanette currently lives in Baltimore City. She has a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Stevenson University and has been working as an early childhood educator for over 15 years. Anjanette has worked as a family nanny, a preschool teacher, an assistant director and a director. As an early childhood educator her goal is to provide a safe and happy environment for each child that will stimulate their physical, social, emotional and their spiritual growth. “I feel that each child should have an opportunity to learn and grow in their faith, as well as their education in a loving and caring environment.”


David Tramontana

David  has been with Bel Air United Methodist Church since 2009.  He holds a Master's degree in Music Education from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a concentration on voice from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Currently, he teaches choral music at Havre de Grace High School, where h e directs the Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, and Chamber Singers, and is the artistic director and conductor of the Rehoboth Welsh Choir, a community choir out of Delta, PA.  David lives in Havre de Grace, MD with his beautiful wife Courtney, and his four wonderful children; Bridget, Aidan Cecelia and Joseph.  The prayer I give before and every anthem is:  "Lord, please be with the choir as we sing this anthem, and also be with those who hear us, that they may become closer to you  through our song!"


Patrick Merrill

Patrick Merrill - Organist


Harford County native Patrick Merrill began his formal musical training at the Maryland Conservatory of Music in Bel Air, Maryland. His private studies with Maryland Conservatory founder and director Dr. Duke Thompson continued into his high school years at the Baltimore School for the Arts. Patrick completed his undergraduate degree in piano performance at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in the studio of Ms. Yong Hi Moon, as well as a Master’s degree in harpsichord performance in the studio of Dr. Adam Pearl. Having been awarded a Dean’s Fellowship, he remains a student at Peabody, currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in harpsichord performance. Patrick is an adjunct faculty member in the department of music at George Washington University, as well as a piano instructor at Bel Air Music Studios. “It has been a great privilege to provide music for worship in the United Methodist Church since 2011, and I am thrilled to share that joy at Bel Air UMC!”
